Ames Environmental: Asbestos - Asbestos Testing Only

Our in-house lab will analyze your sample(s) and provide you with a detailed report listing the analysis of your material. Your lab report will list the material and the presence or absence of asbestos. If present, the amount of asbestos will be shown as a percentage. If the sample contains greater than one percent asbestos, it is an asbestos containing material or “ACM.” Lab results are listed by the mineral name. There are six types of asbestos: chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, actinolite, tremolite, and anthophyllite.

Please Note:

Your reports will only tell you if the samples collected contain asbestos or not.
Please refer to our instructions for taking a sample.
Taking your own samples can increase your liability, generate inaccurate results, and lead to costly fines from state and local governments (due to incorrect sampling practices). We strongly recommend that all samples taken in anything other than a residential (single family, owner occupied) setting are done either through our Asbestos Building Inspection service or by an in-house (member of your staff), accredited, and knowledge building inspector.
Payment will be required prior to the release of the lab report.
