Ames Environmental Training: Project Design

Initial project designer This course has been approved by the State of Missouri and enables the successful participant to obtain a State of Iowa and/or a State of Missouri asbestos project designer license.

Provides students with:

Conducting an abatement project and roles of various disciplines
Considerations in designing
Abatement in occupied building
Protection of asbestos abatement project personnel
Safety considerations
Air sampling protocols, requirements and data interpretation
Lock down and replacement materials
Legal and insurance considerations
Regulations
Written EPA license examination (administered at the end of the course)

Please Note:

Students wishing to obtain a State of Missouri license will need to take an additional exam. This exam will need to be taken only once if certification stays current. If participant lets certification pass the grace period the initial class and Missouri exam will need to be taken over.
Students enrolled in the initial management planner must attend all 3 days of the course. The class fee will not be refunded for those who do not attend the full 3 days.
The refresher course must be completed annually (prior to the expiration date of the certificate) in order to maintain the certification.

Upon Completion You will:

The participant will be able to interpret the data from building inspections for suspect asbestos materials, to understand laboratory analysis of samples, to be knowledgeable about building systems and all applicable asbestos-related regulations, in order to develop a design for an asbestos abatement project.
Upon successful completion of the course and exam each student will receive a certificate of accreditation as a project designer.

Attendance for all 3-days is required. The class fee will not be refunded for those who do not attend the full 3-days.
